How do I convince my dad to let me get Skyrim?

I feel like a fool for saying this, but I am 17 years old and my dad forbids me from buying Skyrim. His reason isn't violence or anything of that nature, but the fact that you can use magic. He says it goes against his religion and prevents me from buying it. He said if I could convince him otherwise, he will let me get it. Any ideas? How do I convince my dad to let me get Skyrim?
just say its all entirely fictional and you are only using the game for recreational activities, not to motivate or change your views on your religion. Your dad is partially correct. If it is against your reliigion, you should abide by it, but if you are 100% sure that you just wanna play just to have fun and not brainwash you or something, then get it.
Well since i didnt have time to answer, say " if you dont let me get skyrim you will take an arrow to the knee"

Ask him what weed was called in the 80's. Also, learn about your dad. http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/80s/content/5-unlikely-great-dads-80s

If all of this fails, ask your dad who he is going to call. **** that persons mom, and then get a ******* job!
You can either blackmail him with something you know he did that also defies religion or you can show him FAR worse examples of games and letting him know that skyrim is purely for fun, noting witchcrafty :DHow do I convince my dad to let me get Skyrim?
Say you wont use magic in the game, just use a sword or some "human" weapons, the enemies that you slay will be for God since he dislikes magic!
Tell him you can create a character who actually hunts down magic users. (You can be a Nord - warrior type).
The fact that pixels make up all of what you're seeing should be enough of an example for him to not let you own a TV.
You shouldn't do it if it involves magic.

God doesn't like it.
telll him you cant stop trolling
i dont know what religion you are but im christian, my dads catholic, they understand that i understand magic is fictional. also you dont have to use magic in the game if you dont want to. it doest focus on magic and if you choose to its not a big deal. its like a fireball or ice and its just a weapon like a bow and arrow that helps you kill long range. the game world is so huge and theres so much gametime you could play and never encounter magic. its really all about the story line, saving people, doing quest in a medieval setting. i dont really get why its M, i played oblivion and now skyrim and its nothing that bad. really he should just trust that your seventeen, about to be an adult capable of your own mature decisions, but hey, hes not my dad. you choose what you want to do and how you want to play in this game, just dont do the mages college and then you dont have to deal with magic.
