Hi, I've decided to build a decent computer, capable of running new games like skyrim, and have very little money to work with. I don't know much about computers but I'm trying to learn. I'll make this four questions: what is the least I might expect to pay, which parts should I look for, does newegg free shipping apply to uk and can someone send me a link to a site explaining hardware jargon, what it means physically and how it affects performance.What is the least I could expect to pay when building a computer able to run skyrim relatively comfortably?
You said very little money this is going to be a 1k up with the cpu and graphics card lol the graphics card that is recommends for skyrim is 300 alone... if you know how to and where to get the parts, you could even pay around $500.00 or less, but otherwise you will be looking at paying a good amount of money. i dont know what os skyrim needs, but xp is still best for gaming (most new games have less errors when using it than vista and 7 have) Look for barebone kits instead of getting everything seperate, some things you get in them may need to be upgraded, but it can still be cheaper than buying every part seperate. Last year i built what was (at the time) a top of the line gaming computer for $300-$400. I could have spent less considering i have multiple old computers with all their parts, but they are all old. So that means i had a keyboard,speakers (bought a headset $20.00 used), mouse, and monitor. The CPU fan was the only bad part which i didn't know until a few days ago..... a good CPU fan is below (the one i am getting to replace the terrible one i have).

How to convince my parents yo preorder skyrim?
I'm 13, and my parents are ok with buying me graphic videogames. And since skyrim is not rated yet, that's okay. But its the fact about preorder and the price. My parents don't understand the whole getting it now is better than later. Id be perfectly fine with paying the full price of skyrim. It's not some B-Grade Halo knockoff, this is one of the most anticipated RPGs in awhile. For evidence, you can point out how relatively older games (such as Black Ops or Reach) are still selling, new, for $50-$60.
Tell them that it's a very anticipated video game of 2011 sO the price won't go down for a LONG time because it's prequels were so popular. Gig them an example such as Black Ops, a few months until it's a year old and the price hasn't gone down a cent. In Skyrim what is more enjoyable magic or using weapons?
I am getting Skyrim tomorrow so i did research before starting so i know what i am doing. I wanted to be a high elf because there amazing at magic. Then again i heard nords are amazing with combat. I don't want a mix of magic and physical combat i want to specialize in one or the other. Please do not use Skyrim terminology i probably won't understand. The choice that is most enjoyable is.......the one YOU enjoy the most! I hack and slash with a 1-hander and shield, but that's me. That's the whole point of the combat and skill system in Skyrim. You play the way you like and you get better at doing that. Even if you pick, say, magic; are you going to specialize in Destruction? Alteration? Summoning? Illusion? There is no need to commit to ANY skill set until you've had plenty of time to see what you like.
I've done both. I started out with magic and the Shock spell you start out with is excellent. That being said, the later game spells work a bit differently. While the Shock spell you start with is just a click-and-hold aiming spell, later spells are projectiles (click-and-hold to charge then release to let it fly). I am not a big fan of that type of magic, so I then switched over to Bow and Arrow stealthiness. I enjoyed this as well. There's also the option to go with 2 1-handed weapons, a 1-handed weapon and a shield, and a 2-handed weapon. I thoroughly enjoyed hack-and-slashing with a 2-handed weapon.
Overall I can say that while slow, the Bow and Arrow stealthiness is by far the most effective damage, and there are a slew of people around the world that train Archery up. More than I've found for magic and weaponry, anyways, which means you don't have to travel to just one location each time you want to train.
Each type of combat has its own strengths and weaknesses, though, so your best option is to test them all out. If you're using a PC, there's no downside to going one route or another because you can always use the console commands to remove perks and put them in a new tree. If you're not using a PC, the decision is a bit more complicated because (as far as I know) once you go with something, you're stuck with it.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the one downside to magic is that you can only have 2 spells at a time, right-handed and left-handed. This means you have to switch out for healing spells, summoning spells, etc when you want to use them. Yeah it's treu nords are better in combat, because there strong, and don't forget: Skyrim is the homelands of the Nords, so if you take a Nord your character wil fit perfect in the world of Skyrim.
And it's also true that High Elves are amazing at magic, because there magicka regenerates faster, But, high elves are the sort of badguys of skyrim ''The Thalmor''.. but that doesn't mean your a badguy, but i'm just saying.
It is both fun to play, but combat may get boring because it stays the same, So i prefer magic, cause there are lots of different, spells it won't get boring cause it's not the whole time the same.
So i would say: Go for a high elve Mage.
Im a wood elf in the game, why I dont know I wasnt thinking but right now Im more of a mage thats a magic oriented character until I figured out how to make the awesome dragon and daedric armors now Im trying to balance my character out with close combat skills cause in confined spaces I need to fend of charging and spell resistant attackers so my enchanted weapons do the damage while my armor keeps me standing. You can build any character you want but balancing or at least keeping one or the other ability fined tune as a back up is essential cause things do get more intense when your leveling up through the game. When you level up and you think you finally got the upper hand well you think you might but every time your level of experience goes up so does all of your enemies level of attacks and resistence goes up too. Im at level 47 right now and most times the enemies that attack with weapons charge at me really quick and hit fast and hard. So if you become pure mage good luck with the overwhelming combat fighters if you become a pure close combat fighter good luck trying to land some good hits on powerful spell casting enemies cause they run fast and at a distance they turn to blast you with their powerfull magic sometimes you wont even get close to them. Thats why balancing or at least keeping up the rest of your skills close behind your specialty is essential.In Skyrim what is more enjoyable magic or using weapons?
I think both are equally fun. My first playthrough was a melee one, whereas my second was magic. From my own experience, I found that melee/normal weapons can be more of a challenge than magic. You get face to face with an enemy, have to block, dodge, and hit back at the same time. Now, in magic, all you need to do is level up a bit so you have decent destruction spells, then spam them. Once again, this is personal experience- You may decide to use more forms of magic or just clickclickclick with normal weapons.
Well Magic's awesome because you can freeze people, burn 'em, shock 'em, kill 'em and heal yourself at the same time. Now while that's fun, weapons are also great. You get down and dirty because you're face to face with the enemy. Now I know you said no but I suggest going both, like have freeze, shock, flame, or heal in one hand and sword in the other.
I like being an Imperial. They can go either way. Sometimes I use magic, other times I use melee. Just remember that you can level both. If you want to be a pure mage, go with one of the elf classes, otherwise I would go with Imperial. Voice of the emperor is always nice...calm down people who are angry at you :P
I'm currently playing as a Nord and I'm only using fire magic at the moment...On top of that there are weapons which have magical properties. So yes magic is enjoyable with and without weapons.

It's a role playing game, so you can do whatever you want. I will say this though - magic doesn't scale as well as melee combat and/or stealth. In the game you get better and better spells as your skill increases, but you can't make spells yourself as you could in previous Elder Scrolls games. You don't have a lot of options if you want to increase the damage your spells do. Most of the caster gear just makes your spells cheaper, but does't help you do more damage. The only way to increase it is either via skill perks (you'll see these when you get the game, they are like talent points in WoW and other games) or via potions you can get with alchemy.
With your melee combat you start with a weapon, but you can get better weapons as you level up or as you level your smithing skill and put perks into that. Eventually you'll get some really high level weapons. Then you can upgrade them with smithing and make them even more powerful. Add enchants for more damage. Armor than increases damage. Skill increase also increase your damage. If you use potions to increase your enchants and smithing you can make really really good gear.
I played the game as a caster and tried my hand at going through it on Master difficulty once I got to level 20 and it was very, very difficult. You have to kite people everywhere and dodge everything that comes at you. On my melee character, he whoops *** on Master. I can kill an Ancient Dragon in like 3 hits and the Giant's don't hardly damage me at all since my armor rating is over 1500.
All that aside though, if you keep the difficulty down you won't notice the difference in damage. At the lowest setting even weak spells will send your enemies careening across the room.

Well, you have several options, none of them being drop the helmet like everyone says. You still comitted the crime and will still be attacked regardless. Speak with a guard and ask to pay off your fine. You should then have no trouble afterwards. You coukd also just go to jail and serve time (or escape...). Another option is to resist arrest, but that won't solve the problem cause they'll just try to kill you even more. And if you kill someone, your bounty will skyrocket to 1000 or higher. And if you get above 3000 for your bounty, then I suggest you either get some very high leveled weapons and armor or stick to living in the middle of nowhere (or just avoid that hold altogether unless necessary, in which case you'll be fighting a lot, or paying a lot). Otherwise, just load an earlier save. Oh, if you complete the side quest "The Golden Claw", then some of the stuff at the Riverwood Traser will be okay to take without it being considered stolen (there are a few exceptions such as the more powerful and expensive potions on the back shelves, as well as anything that's expensive).How do I make people stop killing me in skyrim?
The easiest thing to do would be to drop the helmet and go up to a Whiterun guard (Riverwood is within the jurisdiction of the Whiterun hold). They should charge you for the crime, either with a small fee or a jail sentence. Or you could do this and still hold the helmet. Serve your sentence or pay up, and you can freely return to Riverwood without any ramifications.
Pay off your bounty or go to jail. The guards will probably attack you before talking, so take out your weapon and re-sheathe it and they should tell you that you have to pay off your bounty or spend time in jail. This happens to me on countless occasions.
Either put your weapons away and let them take you to prison (don鈥檛 worry you will just sleep there for a bit) or pay the bounty. But what I normally do is lode back to the last save. So in future save regularly cos this could happen a lot. If you want to successfully steal something sneak and when the eye in the middle of the screen is not there then you can take it but you still must me carful.
Also don鈥檛 attack random civilians. Good luck

You committed a crime. So the guards are after you. If you put your weapons away they'll probably just arrest you. Pay the fine and surrender the stolen property.
Sheathe your weapon. Pay the fine or go to jail.

Drop the item from your inventory, run away, wait 3-4 in-game days and try to re-enter riverwood.

Well, you have several options, none of them being drop the helmet like everyone says. You still comitted the crime and will still be attacked regardless. Speak with a guard and ask to pay off your fine. You should then have no trouble afterwards. You coukd also just go to jail and serve time (or escape...). Another option is to resist arrest, but that won't solve the problem cause they'll just try to kill you even more. And if you kill someone, your bounty will skyrocket to 1000 or higher. And if you get above 3000 for your bounty, then I suggest you either get some very high leveled weapons and armor or stick to living in the middle of nowhere (or just avoid that hold altogether unless necessary, in which case you'll be fighting a lot, or paying a lot). Otherwise, just load an earlier save. Oh, if you complete the side quest "The Golden Claw", then some of the stuff at the Riverwood Traser will be okay to take without it being considered stolen (there are a few exceptions such as the more powerful and expensive potions on the back shelves, as well as anything that's expensive).How do I make people stop killing me in skyrim?
The easiest thing to do would be to drop the helmet and go up to a Whiterun guard (Riverwood is within the jurisdiction of the Whiterun hold). They should charge you for the crime, either with a small fee or a jail sentence. Or you could do this and still hold the helmet. Serve your sentence or pay up, and you can freely return to Riverwood without any ramifications.
Pay off your bounty or go to jail. The guards will probably attack you before talking, so take out your weapon and re-sheathe it and they should tell you that you have to pay off your bounty or spend time in jail. This happens to me on countless occasions.
Either put your weapons away and let them take you to prison (don鈥檛 worry you will just sleep there for a bit) or pay the bounty. But what I normally do is lode back to the last save. So in future save regularly cos this could happen a lot. If you want to successfully steal something sneak and when the eye in the middle of the screen is not there then you can take it but you still must me carful.

Are some item better to enchant than others in Skyrim?
I'm at level 40 enchanting in Skyrim, with 2/5 Enchanter perk. I've been trying to enchant Silver rings and clothes with the "Fortify Magicka", and have only been able to get a small 2 point bonus. Do I need to enchant better items (like fine clothes, or gold rings), or do I not have high enough Enchant skill, or the wrong perks, or a combination all three?

It has something to do with the smoke in the foreground. And one thing to try and avoid is using console command 'tcl' which is no-clip. It's lags hard on min req PCs. Mainly in dungeons though. But, Skyrimnexus.com has big fixes and patches etc to help reduce lag. I recommend downloading te Esbern voice bug fix. Not to give anything away but he's part of the main quest an without this you won't get past talking to him for he has no voice. here is a very easy way to do to get them at any level but you will need some money ok go to the college of winterhold oncer you go through the gate leading inside take the door to the left that says the hall of anttainment go upstairs on the second floor and talk to the guy enthir he should sell 2 daedra hearts he will restock after 48 hours (DO NOT FINISH THE COLLEGE OF WINTERHOLD!!!!)or he will not sell you anything anymore

Yeah, they sell for high prices, but if you want to max your skill out, it's crucial.
Basically by disenchanting the item, you discover the enchantments,(water breathing, fire, ice, skill boosts, magic boosts, health, magika, stamina boosts, extra damage against a certain enemy... etc.)
Once you discover a few, you can start enchanting weapons if you have soul gems. You can either 5 finger discount them from the apothecary in whiterun, or just break into people's houses and look around. They can be pretty darn pricey.
If you want free ones, I use the term loosely, purchase a house (there's a nice glitch that I'll fill you in on about that too in a second) I'm pretty sure any but the breezehome in whiterun will be okay, Best bet is riften or solitude. If you upgrade the enchantment room, it comes with soul gems, Some are filled, if you're lucky. You can also loot them off bodies of mages and necromancers a lot of the time.
Now about the house glitch, It works on ps3, im not sure about xbox or pc, but when you have enough money for the house you want (5,000 to 25,000), Save, then talk to the stewart when he/she is near a cupboard or wardrobe. Tell them you want to buy the home. Then you'll be prompted to agree or negate on the house, this next part can be tricky, hence why i said to save. Say yes i want the house, then IMMEDIATELY after you click that answer, escape the conversation, turn to the cupboard, open it, and drop ALL of your money into the cupboard and escape out of that screen, you'll receive the key and the house for free! Just remember to go back to that cupboard and get your money lol.
Now all you have to do is upgrade your house ($1,500 to $11,000) to get the soul gems!

If you upgrade your speech, you can get 400 a piece for dragon bones, and each dragon drops 2 to 3 sets, scales sell for 200 and there are usually 2 or 3 sets on a dragon. Plus, dragons are easy to beat and infinite in Skyrim lol.
Even though I've never actually been to this city yet (well over 150 hours in and I still haven't been to all the cities in Skyrim), I've heard that Skyrim's college for mages is in Winterhold. I'd recommend going there, and I imagine there should be someone available who will automatically upgrade your enchantment level for a price. But you're asking for a cheap method... maybe try taking enchanted equipment you already possess, disenchanting them (be aware, this will destroy the item in the process), then enchanting other weapons and armor and possibly even selling the newly enchanted items so you can purchase even cheaper equipment and enchant them. In fact, you could even smith weapons and armor for enchanting from metals you've mined and leather you've tanned from the hides of animals you've killed.
Bear in mind that I have done virtually no enchantments, so I may be entirely off with my advice. But give it a shot, maybe it'll work. Be warned, though: it may be a very long and cumbersome process, especially if you're going at it through the use of equipment you personally have forget out of materials you've gathered.What is a good way to boost Enchanting on Skyrim?

Can you upgrade your leather armour to legendary in Skyrim?
I got Skyrim last week and have been playing a lot of it. I am using leather armour (fine) and was wondering if you could upgrade it further. So I searched it on google and I found out that armour and weapons could be upgraded to a legendary level but I don't have that option with my leather armour. No, even if you get the Smithing skill up to 100 you can only make leather armour 'Flawless'. That's as high as any armour or weapon will go without the smithing perk for that class. If you have the perk you can improve that class of armor much sooner.
For example i'm using steel armor, without the 'Steel Smithing' perk i can only improve my Steel Armor and weapons to a certain point.
If my smithing skill is 30 or under i can only make it 'Fine'
If my smithing skill is between 31-64 i can make it 'Superior'
65-99 'Exquisite'
100 'Flawless''
But if I do have the Steel Smithing Perk then it's like this.
20 or below 'Fine'
21-40 'Superior'
41-60 'Exquisite'

The point is, as there is no perk for Leather smithing, you can't get it higher than Flawless. I'd recommend the Advanced Armour Perk. It will let you craft Scaled Armor. it is as light as Leather Armour but stronger than Steel Armor.

Also, talk to the Thane of cities, the Jarl himself, or the Jarl's court master. If you talk to enough people, your bound to get one. Also, hang around Riften a lot. the innkeeper in any inn or the jarl's steward can give you a random bounty mission. they range from dragons and giants to bandits. you can have one of these missions per hold for a total of 9. once you complete one turn it in to the steward of the hold you got it in and get a new one. use the quest log if you cant remember which hold to go back to.
also, if you just want to kill dragons, if you ask the head graybeard guy if he has located any words of power he will send you to a place with a word wall. in my personal experience it was 50/50 between dungeons with walls and mountaintops with walls and a dragon.

I have only two mods installed in Skyrim and script dragon keeps giving me errors telling my my version is not supported. I wan't to know if there is anyway to fix it without getting rid of my mods. YES, Conjuration is good. Summoning a Dremora Lord is quite fantastic actually.
As far as your Magicka goes, ENCHANTMENT. If you max out your enchantment, get the enchantment potions, you can put 2 enchantments on each piece of gear that basically reduce your magicka cost for whichever 2 schools of magic, down to virtually nothing. Destruction + Conjuration is a good combo, then you can save your actual Magicka for Resto if you need it, or Alt/Illusion spells
Conjuration is a pretty good skill in Skyrim. Whatever class you are trying to play the conjured minions are pretty sweet. They are really powerful and can have some nice abilities (zombies). Whereas the bound weapons are also fairly good. The only real problem with the conjured weapons is you are not going to get as high of damaged bound weapons as you could a weapon that you have smithed to a higher quality. I played a character who used alteration magic for armor and used bound weapons to fighting it was pretty OP.Is conjuration good as a main skill in skyrim?
I don't really have any advice. I don't want to give advice because this is still my first time playing the game, first and only character so far, and my character is only like level 35, so there's probably worlds I don't know...but here's my experience.
I chose Wood Elf. My character is a stealthy archer assassin/thief, light armor, and I know the conjuration spells for Flame Atronach/Fire Atronach. I can also Necromance (Raise Zombie/Revenant)
But almost always I sneak attack with the bow (3x damage, thanks to an archery perk). And if I can't sneak attack with the bow and I get mobbed, I don't even use the summon spells. I use my Sanguine Rose, which is like a staff that summons a really badass Daedric dude who, IMHO, is better than any of the creatures I've learned how to summon with magic.
I'm sure you could make a conjurer that was so good that you could literally beat all your enemies just using summoned creatures, but it would be really hard. I use my summoned creatures and turned undead to take the hits while I use my bow, anyway, and it works really well.
P.S. You dont have to use a physical bow and arrow. I have one, but I also have the "Bound Bow," which right now is actually BETTER than my Nightingale bow.

i would prefer not to use it,only because if you have low magica the time that you would have to use waiting for it to recharge would get annoying,unless you want to use your hard earned money to buy regeneration potions

Why does skyrim keep crashing to the desktop?
I'll be playing skyrim for an hour or so and then it will just crash to the desktop with no error or anything. Why is it doing this? I tried the sound fix to 44.1khz but that hasn't helped. This seems to be a problem with the game across all platforms. I've got it on PS3 and fixed my freeze/crash issues by turning off the autosave options, so you might want to try that. You'll need to manually save your game more often, but its worth it to not have Skyrim crash in the middle of a really good battle.

I personally am biting the bullet in hopes of them fixing the "quest item marking" for the game, where you'll be able to drop the items once the quest is no longer in your log as active. That way, I can decorate my home with a REALLY rare trinket. easy way to get to lv100 smithing is to travel round all the cities blacksmiths and buy all the iron ingots and leather strips you can
then just make lots of iron daggers at the forge
they level smithing up fastest
early levels around 50 it only takes 3 or 4 daggers per level but 90 to 100 is around 12 daggers per level so you can level up to 100 smithing in no time and make dragon armor
Well, you should consider Redguards combat oriented characters, so all perks should be attributed to the combat related constellations, or the "orange aura zone". Depending on your play style, you may want to attribute your skills to one-handed, blocking, and/or two-handed weapons. Besides that, other perks go towards heavy armor. I personally attributed enough perks to magicka to dual-cast spells., then didn't touch it again. secondary to everything else, theres like speech-craft and other general attributes.
But remember that your ability to upgrade weapons is directly correlated to what you use. Perks into heavy armor, 1 hand weapon, blacksmith, block, and alchemy for healing pots. Shouts instead of magic... Use only heavy armor a 1 hand weapon (whatever you want to spec in sword or mace or axe.) Use shield for blocking and collect materials for potions as you quest and explore.

they level smithing up fastest
early levels around 50 it only takes 3 or 4 daggers per level but 90 to 100 is around 12 daggers per level so you can level up to 100 smithing in no time and make dragon armor
Well, you should consider Redguards combat oriented characters, so all perks should be attributed to the combat related constellations, or the "orange aura zone". Depending on your play style, you may want to attribute your skills to one-handed, blocking, and/or two-handed weapons. Besides that, other perks go towards heavy armor. I personally attributed enough perks to magicka to dual-cast spells., then didn't touch it again. secondary to everything else, theres like speech-craft and other general attributes.

Im buying Skyrim, but before i buy it, I need a question answered. How many hours of gameplay will be put into the game. Because I hope its not like fable, where after you complete the 4-10 hours of the story and beat the game, your stuck doing nothing, and sitting there like, "ok what now?" I have 51 hours on Oblivion and I still have plenty I could do. Skyrim looks twice as large by all the gameplay trailers Bethesda has shown off, I assure you can put a huge chunk of time into it.

If it's anything like Oblivion (and it's supposed to be), there will be literally hundreds of side quests that you can do at any time, plus there are tons of non-quest-related areas to explore. I played Oblivion and I spent about 350-375 hours in it with my first character (I wanted to do everything with my first character) and about 200 hours with another. Bathesda announced a while back that Skyrim guarantees 300+ hours to complete 100% of their custom made missions but in addition the creation engine they have in Skyrim creates random quests sending you to places you've never been and even once you've been everywhere you'll get collection and assassination as well as raiding quests and likely more dragon quests. Director of Skyrim Todd Howard announced that they called this "radiant quest" and that it would give you not almost infinite quests but literally infinite quests. This game has easily over 500+ hours in it all depending on how much you enjoy living in another world. Todd also announced that there are INFINITE dragons....that's right a never ending stream of them. So you'll always have fun there and you'll know that boss-like fights await you even after game completion. Towns all have an economy and no not like fables more like if ANY crafting building (lumber mill, blacksmith, etc) is destroyed that town, city, or village will have a shortage in everything they make as well as in everything made with what they make. Let's say the lumber mill is destroyed you'd find less staves, arrows, bows and anything else with any kind of wood on it even if they are created by the Blacksmith he had to get the materials from somewhere. Skyrim factors all of this in.
Last search I did on Skyrim suggests almost unlimited quests to do. Their new quest system will automatically generate new quests based on what progress you made in the game. Even the Guilds will offer additional jobs to perform even after the final promotion in each one. That's is something that bothered me about Oblivion. How come my objective markers do not show on my map in Skyrim?
When I started playing Skyrim my objective markers would show on the map and disappear after completing the quest. Now whenever I try to make anything my active quest, nothing shows on my map. I thought that it was just certain quests, but it is doing it for every single one. My buddy marks the same quests on his PS3 and the active quests show up on his map. If you are talking about the misc quests you need to active them individually not just the misc quest.
As for the main quest and side quest it just sounds like you aren't marking them correctly. Some quests though start off as rumors and won't give you an icon until you've learned some more information about them.
For me the misc quest markers show up fine. All the other quests don't show up. I have to keep a notebook when I get a quest and write down as much as I can remember to help me find the right person and place. If I don't catch the spoken info, I reload and listen again. Pain with no quest markers.

While High Elves get a nice bonus to Magicka, there are plenty of items available in game to boost your magica (apparel that gives sustained boosts, not just temporary potions) so that the 50 point boost to magica is good but not necessary. Also, the difference between races for the destruction skill is very small... 15 vs 20 or 25. If you use destruction primarily, it will raise up very quickly.
The most important thing to remember as a mage is wear mage robes! They boost your magica and regen, reduce the cost of spells, and work with some perks for extra boosts.
High Elves (Altmer) have the best overall magic specialization. They also start with a higher magicka stat, and have a special magicka regeneration power:
+50 Magicka.
Highborn: Once per day, tenfold magicka regeneration for 60 seconds.
Altmer start with the spell Fury.
+10 Illusion
+5 Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Enchanting, Restoration

If you go with a high elf and do purely magic its going to make some parts of the game extremely difficult. For instance during the last part of the college of winterhold quest series you are asked to obtain the staff of magnus. The boss who drops this staff is almost immune to magic attacks. I would try to also have some sort of combat weapon.
Bretons get +10 Conjuration. Dark Elves get+10 Destruction. High Elves get +5 destruction and Conjuration. I created a Dark Elf. They excel in destruction magic, but i don't think much else. I plan to use him as a melee/destruction magic fighter. So if you wanted to go purely magical, i'd choose a high elf.
Personally, I started the game off with a high elf and plan to be a mage, but a Breton may also be good for what you want.
Go with The breton or Drk elf, you can make up for the extra magik points later and you cant make up for the weakness to magic unless you have things that will protect against it, so yea! good luck the game is amazing!!
The high elf is the obvious choice. as they have 50 more magic and it recovers 50% faster. However all the elves are good with magic

I like the breton myself. The magic resistance and power which allows you to absorb spells thrown at you are great. Destruction starts at like lvl 15 but thats one of the easiest magic skills to level (imo).
High elves have a bonus in all magic, but i would play as a dark elf and combine stealth with magic that way you dont have to do three playthroughs
i belive the dark elfs are good it tell you what they are good at on the main character sleaction screen, it's one of the elf... good lluck p.s it's an awsome game
High Elf or Breton. High Elf gets more magical bonuses, but Breton is more resistant to magic and I think they have a couple of bonuses too, also, they look more normal.
I recommend Breton because they have a good resistance to magic when High Elves have really **** magic defense.

For instance during the last part of the college of winterhold quest series you are asked to obtain the staff of magnus. The boss who drops this staff is almost immune to magic attacks. I would try to also have some sort of combat weapon.
Bretons get +10 Conjuration. Dark Elves get+10 Destruction. High Elves get +5 destruction and Conjuration. The High Elves are what your after:
10+ illusion
5+ Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Enchanting, Restoration
I created a Dark Elf. They excel in destruction magic, but i don't think much else. I plan to use him as a melee/destruction magic fighter. So if you wanted to go purely magical, i'd choose a high elf.
Personally, I started the game off with a high elf and plan to be a mage, but a Breton may also be good for what you want.
Go with The breton or Drk elf, you can make up for the extra magik points later and you cant make up for the weakness to magic unless you have things that will protect against it, so yea! good luck the game is amazing!!
The high elf is the obvious choice. as they have 50 more magic and it recovers 50% faster. However all the elves are good with magic

I like the breton myself. The magic resistance and power which allows you to absorb spells thrown at you are great. Destruction starts at like lvl 15 but thats one of the easiest magic skills to level (imo).
High elves have a bonus in all magic, but i would play as a dark elf and combine stealth with magic that way you dont have to do three playthroughs
i belive the dark elfs are good it tell you what they are good at on the main character sleaction screen, it's one of the elf... good lluck p.s it's an awsome game
High Elf or Breton. High Elf gets more magical bonuses, but Breton is more resistant to magic and I think they have a couple of bonuses too, also, they look more normal.
I recommend Breton because they have a good resistance to magic when High Elves have really **** magic defense.

Well i am a big fan of lord of the rings. But i was looking at skyrim and it looks great all the graphics. But i haven't played oblivion yet. Skyrim seems a lot more complicated but that's good. I like games like that. Like I've played Fallout 3 and fallout new vegas. And i loved those games. I am starting to read the books on lord of the rings. And the games are both rpg's. Well it truly depends on if youre into a game that has A LOT of free roam, 600k lines of dialogue, will take about 80 hrs to complete main quest line and like 300 hrs to complete everything there is to do. THEN GET SKYRIM. Oblivion and Skyrim are the same gamestyle as Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Free roam, many quests, extensive map and dialogue. Skyrim will boast factions aswell (like in New Vegas) companions, etc...

What time should I show up to the midnight release of skyrim?
I have pre-ordered Skyrim from my local gamestop, and I'm going to the midnight release. I have never gone to a midnight release, So I am unsure of when to actually show up. Some say that you can buy it from anywhere in between 10pm and 12pm but you dont get the game until 12:01. Im not sure, So if you could please help me, I would be very thankful. Visit the Warrens in Markarth. You'll see a guy waiting inside, leaned against the wall on the far right. Talk to him and he'll offer you training to the sneak skill.
The sneak skill is critical to becoming a master theif. The lockpicking and pickpocketing are also very important skills to pick up.
As far as species go, I'm a female Nord. (level 38 sneak, 30 lockpicking, and 23 pickpocketing)
I also highly recommend light armor (magicka robes are only 1 weight, you can change into armor when you're not snooping around. xD) Light armor muffles your sound and makes you more difficult to detect.What do you need to become a god thief in skyrim?

Sneak isn't just good for stealing and not getting attacked, it also provides some very good bonuses to attacking people - so you can shoot someone, hide, shoot them again, or sneak up and kill them with one hit from a dagger.
