What is the biggest and most impressive house in Skyrim?

I want to know what the biggest house in Skyrim is, and also which house has the best layout, so the best interior and best furniture, and features like Alchemy lab or a Blacksmith anvil or something. Thanks. What is the biggest and most impressive house in Skyrim?
Proudspire manor in Solitude is the most "Impressive" looking in terms of fancy furniture and stuff. It's a stone house, so it's a little prettier than the others. It has 3 levels and alchemy and enchanting areas and 2 mannequins. A few weapon racks, but no display cases.

Hjerim in Windhelm has a more straightforward layout, though, (2 levels and each floor is very roomy and open) and definitely the most display cases, storage, and is probably the most impressive in terms of having an actual armory. It has 3 mannequins and tons of weapon racks. Plus it has a "secret" alchemy/enchanting section, which some players like. Best house if you want to show off your weapons.

Vlindrel Hall in Markarth is smaller than the other two, only one level, but has a very nice layout as well and very well thought out alchemy and enchanting rooms. One mannequin, lots of space for books if you care about collecting those, and I think there's like one dagger display case and a weapon rack or 2.

None of the houses have a blacksmith forge. You have to make use of the ones at the smithy in each city.
Herjim is by far the best house. Its 12k gold (half the price of proudspire). The nordic architecture in windhelm seems to have a very big, and open space for the common houses. the second you enter herjim its going to be a big nice open space, but the house (like all others) is very bare. Herjim also has 2 things every other house doesnt, A secret room hidden behind a suspicious storage cabinet which is where your alchemy, and enchanting tables will be place along with the gems and ingrediants with the package. the 2nd is the armory with provides approximately 4 display cases, 4 mannequins to display armor, and about 5-7 weapon racks to the top floor (+the plaques given in the enchanting pack). Unfotunetly for all skyrim overs there is no house that provides a personal smithing station with an anvil smelter and etc. There are sum mods (if your on Pc) that modify houses to have smithing stations. those mods are the second link in the sources. What is the biggest and most impressive house in Skyrim?
There is all kinds of great houses that may or may not suit your style. Solitudes home is the most expensive and probably has the nicest furnishings. There are some impressive ones like, suprisingly, in Riften the one on the lake is quite nice and very cool. I personally bought the one in Whiterun because it's cheap but I lime it. It's quint and has two bedrooms which is enough for my, housecarl and I. It has an alchemy lab and all the furnishings I believe are under 500 gold each and the house itself is 5000 gold. The one in solitude is 25000 gold and probably has expensive furnishings. So unless you have about 50000 gold to blow off I suggest the one in Whiterun. It's not big but it's great.
The biggest is 25,000 gold and its located in solitude and it has a bad layout in my opinion. with full upgrades its about 36,000 gold including the 25,000 for the purchase of the house. the smallest is based in whiterun and it is 5,000 gold and with upgrades it comes out to about 6,200 gold in all. i like it alot cause it has a pretty cool lay out but its tiny. and then theres the dwarven house in markarth which is the only 1 i dont have and dont know about. The 1 in windhelm is nice in my opinion. it has a good layout and it is 12,000 gold and the upgrades are about 8,000 gold in all. it has a problem though. theres a murder quest you have to solve in windhelm in order to get the house and the house (Hjerim) is the house that the killer lived in so its kinda weird feeling somehow. it has an armory which is a huge bonus cause it looks incredibly unique. goodluckWhat is the biggest and most impressive house in Skyrim?
I've personally had all of them the nicest in my opinion is the one in markarth as its the coolest looking town and the house is very big and its only 8000 but the best house is in whiterun it has a blacksmith right outside the house is cozy and the town is super easy to get around unlike windhelm which I got lost in

So I say get a house in whiterun or markarth
Proudspire Manor in Solitude is the fanciest.

Hjerim in Windhelm is by far the best for a warrior type, tons of weapon racks and three mannequins.

Breezehome in Whiterun has the most storage room and is very cheap.

All of them can have alchemy labs if you purchase the benefit but none of them have anvils for blacksmithing.
Solitude is the largest, and has the most armor/weapon displays. It's three stories, and spacious, and comes with alchemy and enchanting tables after you upgrade.

It costs 25k to buy and around another 10-15k to upgrade it fully.
I like the answers above. A tip though, the house in Whiterun is small, and nice, and has an armorsmith next door! So if you really want access to those items, I would suggesst using that house. It is cheap, and has all the storage space you really need, and has the armorsmith right beside it.
None of the houses in Skyrim are that impressive, simply because they don't add any value to the game play, other than a simple token reward for earning gold coins.
The windhelm house is the best. Even though the solitude house costs more money. The Winchell house is bigger, has more weapon plaques, display cases(solitude does not have these), and a badass hidden room.
