How long til people dont hate me in Skyrim?

Asking way too many Skyrim questions, but the game is pretty sweet. How long til people dont hate me in Skyrim?
This question makes no sense.
When you start this game people do not know you and thus they do not like you...certain factions might not like you anyways like if you are playing a Kaajit and are doing the Stormcloak quests (they are racists) they will not like you....but as your fame grows people will begin to like you. Say you do all the companion quests people will say it is a honor to see the leader of the companions. If you do the theives guild or the dark brotherhood people will be more wary of you.How long til people dont hate me in Skyrim?
if you mean because you committed a crime, you can pay a bounty to have the people forgive you. Refer to the skyrim crime and jail guide:

You really didn't provide enough details to answer this question, but here it goes anyways. If you're an elf (any of them) most of the Nords hate you because they have beef with eachother. Also if you're a vampire and are at stage 4 people will attack you. Again not really sure what you mean but maybe I answered. How long til people dont hate me in Skyrim?
Okay well you didn't give enough info for me to give you an exact answer but I'll do my best. Are you an elf? If so then a lotta Nords will hate you 'cause they've been fighting for hundreds of years so they kinda don't like each other. If you've killed a lot of people or done other crimes you'll be unpopular. Hope this helps!

  • I have just started the elder scrolls 5 skyrim. Is there any back story I should know from the past games?

Also, is the Empire in the elder scrolls 5 skyrim evil? What is there background? What is the background of the stormcloaks? I really trying to decide on which side to take and who is right or wrong.I have just started the elder scrolls 5 skyrim. Is there any back story I should know from the past games?
    ****SPOILERS****

The only backstory you really need to know concerning past games is that the Oblivion Crisis occurred hundreds of years before the events in Skyrim (that is covered in TES IV: Oblivion), and that the Imperial Legion and the Blades have since crumbled in power. The Aldmeri Dominion (a race of ultra-elven-supremacists) have become a thorn in everyone's side, having fought a great war against the Imperial Legion, a war which ended with the White Gold Concordat. The Concordat, to many Nords and others in Skyrim, was a sellout by the Imperials to the Dominion. The High King of Skyrim was a part of this, and when Ulfric Stormcloak rebelled, it pitted the Imperials against the Stormcloaks. Ulfric, at the start of the game, has just been captured after he used his Thu'um to shout the High King apart. People in Skyrim either think that he is a traitor and has to answer for his crime (most races besides Nords) or that he was part of an ancient ritual where he proved that he, not the existing High King, was fit to rule Skryim.

    That's where you come in.

The Empire in Skyrim is what's left of the Legion from TES IV. They've been spread thin, and are certainly corrupt. However, despite all of their misgivings, they've held Skyrim under their dominion since its creation, and if the Stormcloaks succeed, all races other than the Nords will be expelled out of Skyrim. (Consider them like the Roman Legion under Caesar, both good and bad)

The Stormcloaks are the loyal followers of the rebel leader, Ulfric Stormcloak, Jarl of Windhelm. They are (mostly) extremely racist, and in Windhelm have created a ghetto for Dark Elves where they are abused and mistreated. Stormcloaks believe that the Empire sold out to the Dominion, and that they've influenced Skyrim long enough. They fight to free Skyrim and argue that all true Nords would follow their example. They have more moral support on their side.

Neither side is right or wrong--each has its strengths and weaknesses. For example, the Stormcloaks generally focus on Light Armor while the Imperial Legion endorses Heavy Armor. Either way, you'll find some things among each side that you'll probably feel uncomfortable about (it's supposed to be somewhat real warfare).

    Hope this helped!
your choice in the intro quest only changes minor details, such as starting equipment (which can be replaced by looting enemies within that quest), your contact in Riverwood, and some minor changes within the civil war questline in the form of dialogue options.

In the civil war questline, your decision determines where you will be invading. To figure out beforehand which holds are allied to which faction, you can look at any of the territory maps (located in any jarl's home building). they can be recognized by red and blue flags pinned to them.

Many people are biased against the Empire, as they are to be executed by them for no real reason in the intro, as was I from the beginning, but neither is really better than the other.

TES 5 Skyrim was my first game in this series, and I knew next to nothing of the backstory until i played through. basically, there was a "Great War", where the Empire almost lost. they signed a treaty, which banned worship of Talos (one of the 9 deities) because he was a man first. The civil war is, in part, a result of this, as well as a racial/nationalistic war. the Stormcloak Nords (Skyrim natives) don't like the Empire (seen as puppets of the elves) controlling them, or the non-human races (for varied reasons).

One of the reasons I like Skyrim is that there is no need to know the history going in, as you can learn it as you go along, often at your leisure.I have just started the elder scrolls 5 skyrim. Is there any back story I should know from the past games?
It depends what you think of. They both have their goods and flaws.

I think it is the type of race you choose (My opinion). Since I made a Dark Elf, I chose the imperials because Stormcloaks are racist to the elves mostly to the Dark elves in Morrowind. Ulfric has killed lots of innocent people. He just wants to gain power. Although Imperials have done many bad things as well.
neither is really right or wrong, if you wan to get a clearer picture of the past games, look for the books in game about the empire and stormcloaks, they give very clear pictures of the storyline.I have just started the elder scrolls 5 skyrim. Is there any back story I should know from the past games?
Research Storm cloaks and imperials battle and your set.Its not really needed though.

Do you have to play the previous Elder Scrolls to understand Skyrim?

I'm thinking about buying Skyrim but haven't played the previous games. Is Skyrim a standalone game?Do you have to play the previous Elder Scrolls to understand Skyrim?
I was concerned myself. I noticed all the hype around this game, and I decided to buy it. I haven't played any other Elder Scrolls games, so I thought I would be all confused. But trust me, you will feel VERY comfortable once you get the feel for the controls and game play. I can't believe how good this game is. Great story, awesome character creation options, and all the paths you can take! I absolutely love the game and I'm planning on playing it for quite a while XD.

Also, I did a LITTLE research before buying the game and it seems each game is a different storyline some 200-300 years apart. I don't know if maybe some references are interconnected with past titles, but if so it wont effect you much. Hope you enjoy Skyrim as much as I do!

Each Elder Scrolls game takes place a few hundred years after the other so the settings and history are what connect them not the story. Each one will also contain plenty of lore about not only events of the previous games but the history of the entire TES series. So go pick it up, you dont have to know anything about the other games and if you want to it will teach you and its an amazing game.Do you have to play the previous Elder Scrolls to understand Skyrim?
No, it is a 200 year away and is based on a whole new complete story. But, things like "Imperial guards" and more are from the previous ones, although it is very minor.
    no

Why does Skyrim download from steam when i have the disk?

I got Skyrim for christmas and loaded the game, and after installation it was downloading 5.7 GB of game content. I thought if you bought the disk you didn't have to download, because the point of a disk is so you dont have to download the game.... Does anyone know whats wrong? Why does Skyrim download from steam when i have the disk?
its downloading a patchWhy does Skyrim download from steam when i have the disk?
Thats not true. The point of the disk is if you dont have a stable internet connection to download the game over the internet, or you are not comfortable with giving out your credit card information online, nor you may not even have a credit card to buy it online. With a disk, you still have to download and install the game on your PC. If you look at the box closely, it will see you need at least 7-8GB of free HDD space, for that very reason. Nothing went wrong and your game is installing normally. Why does Skyrim download from steam when i have the disk?
I was going to answer your question but then i took an arrow to the knee

Why is everybody saying i look sick in Skyrim?

I think it siad i have axtaxia and one other thing. How do you cure diseases in skyrim? Why is everybody saying i look sick in Skyrim?
You have contracted some sort of disease. To check what you have go into your Menu%26gt;Magic%26gt;Active Effects. It will say there what you have in red. To cure simply use a Cure Disease Potion.
Recall the story. It is because you have Dragonblood in your veins as you are the hero (eventually).

They say that in Riverwood when you first get there after Helgen Escape and have had no chance of being tainted/poisoned/cursed etc.. later in the game, you may well get the latter but the game will tell you when it happens and show In your stats should you miss the on screen notifications. Why is everybody saying i look sick in Skyrim?
I am trying to figure it out as well. I've visited the temple and get cured with the poison that I had. I checked under the effect tab and I have nothing but good effects there. I even make sure I sleep every night, yet I still get npc tells me that. I haven't fought any vampires yet.
They are saying you are sick because you have a disease. You can look under Magic-Active Powers to see what disease you have. You can cure it with a "cure disease" potion (which you can get at most shops that sell potions). Why is everybody saying i look sick in Skyrim?
No Its because you have faught vampires maybe and got vampirism effect

go to whiterun and one of shrines{statues] and gain their blessing all your diseases become cured
Either buy a cure disease potion from the alchemist, or visit a chapel and click on the altar.
The Talos Shrine by the big tree in Whiterun should work.
They say that even if you have no disease, dunno why
Potions or any shrine of the nine

Hi everyone, sometimes I need to check something on the internet while playing Skyrim, but before I am able to go to my desktop, I have to save the game and then quit it.
